This policy explains how Trainee ("we") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Trainee app and website at trainee.fitness.

Information We Collect

Account: phone number (for OTP sign-in), name, city, role.
Profile: for trainers — bio, specialty, certifications, pricing, payout details; for clients — fitness goals.
Health & fitness data you record: weight, workout, diet and water logs.
Payments: processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank credentials.
Chat messages between clients and trainers.
A push-notification token to send you alerts.
Usage and device data: pages and screens you view, actions you take (such as viewing a trainer profile or completing a payment), approximate location inferred from your IP address, device type, browser and operating system. This is collected through Google Analytics — see Analytics below.

How We Use It

To run your account, connect clients with trainers, enable plans/tracking/chat/video, process payments and payouts, send notifications, verify trainers, keep the service secure, and understand how the service is used so we can improve it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use Trainee. It records events such as page views, sign-ups, trainer profile views and completed payments, together with a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser or app, and technical details such as device type and approximate location derived from your IP address.

We do not send Google Analytics your name, phone number, email address, chat messages, or any of your health and fitness data. Analytics data is used only in aggregate to improve the service — never to make decisions about an individual user.

You can opt out at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings. Opting out does not affect your ability to use Trainee.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use a small number of cookies and equivalent local storage. Some are strictly necessary — they keep you signed in and remember your theme preference. Others are analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, which help us measure how the service is used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data to advertisers.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help run Trainee: Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Razorpay (payments), Vonage (OTP SMS), Firebase/Google (notifications), Jitsi (video), and Google Analytics (usage measurement). When you hire a trainer, relevant profile and progress data is shared with that trainer.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Google Analytics, process data on servers outside India. Where that happens we rely on the provider's contractual data-protection commitments to keep your information protected to the standard described in this policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account anytime from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes your data. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months and is not linked to your account.

Your Rights

Under India's DPDP Act 2023, you may access, correct or delete your data and withdraw consent. Use the in-app controls or contact us.

Security

We protect data with encryption in transit and row-level access controls.

Children

Trainee is for users aged 18 and over.
